1990

J-Squared was incorporated January 1990.
J-Squared began as a manufacturers’ representative with leading semiconductor vendors in the Canada marketplace.

1997

J-Squared launched its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Solutions Group to support (what is today) the Oracle PLM solution suite.

2005

The business model evolved by adding a value-added distribution division

2013

J-Squared added a hardware system division. These initial hardware solutions focused on Small Form Factor (SFF) computers.

2014

J-Squared added a dedicated Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) division to support both its own SFF computers and third-party products.

2018

J-Squared acquired Octagon Systems to expand its SFF computer offerings. Octagon Systems specialized in rugged electronic system for mining, rail, and transportation.
J-Squared acquired ESL Labs, an environmental qualification testing laboratory in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

2020

J-Squared expanded the Octagon System product offering to include: 19” rackmount rugged servers and rugged displays.

2021

J-Squared continued its product expansion, by including rugged cabinets for harsh environments and naval deployments.

2022

ESL Labs moved into a new, larger (32,000 sq. ft.) facility in Dartmouth and added additional environmental testing equipment.
The Octagon Systems hardware offering expanded to address video processing and AI inferencing at the edge with a new product family called FALC.

2023

To compliment J-Squared’s FALC product family, J-Squared added an AI software analytics division focused on edge AI, called FALC-AI.
ESL Labs added EMI/EMC capabilities commissioned an EMI Chamber and hiring EMI/EMC specialists.
